Alex has been an educator for over 25 years. Beginning his career as a high school teacher of History, Literature and Philosophy. After 8 years in the classroom he left teaching to pursue graduate school, getting a degree in education leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University. He worked in the main New York CIty office for Teach for America before beginning a near 15 year career in college admissions. During his admissions career, he has traveled all across the US, Latin America, Africa, Europe and the Middle East as a senior domestic and international admissions office. In 2006 he began teaching summer courses in Philosophy at Columbia Unviersity. After leaving university admissions in 2015, he has spent the last 7 years as a college counselor, guiding students on their educational journey.
